Research forms the core of the Top Employers project. Through objective, fact based research, we determine whether an organisation meets the requirements to be certified as a Top Employer. Key drivers, practices and policies are reviewed thoroughly.

The research process consists of four steps:

1. Shortlist
The first step in identifying the nation's Top Employers is to prepare a shortlist of organisations that qualify for the research phase. This is based on a thorough market assessment made in close collaboration with our leading HR partners.

2. The HR Best Practices Survey
In the research, all critical areas of the HR Management of the participating organisations are assessed. Critical areas of HR management, such as Primary Benefits, Secondary Benefits & Working Conditions, Training & Development, Career Opportunities and Company Culture, are reviewed thoroughly.

3. Review and Audit
At the third step of the research phase, CRF Institute reviews and audits the results. The review is executed with one or more senior (HR) managers of the organisation. In conjunction with Grant Thornton, we perform an additional audit to check specific answers to the questionnaire.

4. Rating and Selection
The ratings from the research phase determine whether or not the participating organisation is certified as a Top Employer. Only those organisations that meet the requirements receive the Top Employers Certification Seal.

What they say

Top Employers China really changed my perception of some organisations. Now I know these organisations take really good care of their people. (...) I will look out for the logo next time I am looking for a new job
